The first of its kind in the U.S., Biltong Bar brings South African fare to the Central Food Hall of highly renowned Ponce City Market since early 2016. Biltong Bar features organic, all-natural South African beef jerky, otherwise known as biltong, and other specialty jerky meats, alongside gourmet hand pies and South African-inspired snacks, sandwiches and plates. In addition to the impressive bar boasting craft cocktails, local brews and a full wine list, Biltong Bar offers a retail portion from which guests can purchase South African spices, rubs and house-made sauces. For the Rosemary’s Baby, the menu lists London gin, byrrh quinquina, lime, rosemary, and grapefruit soda as the ingredients in this delicious drink.
It was so good I had…well, I’d better not tell you just how many I had!
If you’re near or passing through Atlanta and you haven’t been to Ponce City Market, you should check it out. It’s such a great conglomeration of shops and nearly thirty eating establishments and bars!
We met our older son, Brian, and his wife, Caroline, at PCM, and enjoyed such a fun evening. We started out at W.H. Stiles Fish Camp with some amazing hushpuppies and drinks, then just walked around for a while.
There are retail shops, including my favorite Williams Sonoma, and lots of great eating places. I love that you can get a drink to-go and walk around and shop. And most of the restaurants offer a tapas-style menu with large counters. We went to 3 different places and never waited more than a few minutes.
Y’all come check it out! And try the Rosemary’s Baby from Biltong—I bet you’ll love it!
